How do I find out who my MP is?
Every address in the UK falls inside one of 650 parliamentary constituencies, and each constituency elects one Member of Parliament to the House of Commons. The quickest way to find yours is by postcode.
That's what Who Is My MP? does. Enter your postcode and the app shows your MP's name, party and constituency, followed by their full public record.
Parliament also runs its own Find your MP service, which gives you the name and contact details. The app starts from the same answer and adds what they've done with the job.
What does the app show about my MP?
Your constituency drawn on a map, then four tabs, all from Parliament's own published record:
- Activity — a timeline of how they voted in every Commons division, every speech recorded in Hansard, written questions to ministers, and appointments to and from posts. Filter it to just the votes for or against.
- About — who they are, their last general election result with majority and turnout, and the government, opposition or committee roles they hold now and have held before.
- Interests — their entries in the Register of Members' Financial Interests: earnings, gifts, donations, property and shareholdings. If there are none, it says so plainly.
- Committees — the bill committees they've sat on, with dates.
A Contact button opens the details Parliament publishes for them.
Each item links to the original record on parliament.uk, so you can check it yourself.
Where does the information come from?
Directly from UK Parliament's public data services — the Members, Votes, Written Questions and Hansard APIs — published under the Open Parliament Licence v3.0. Postcodes are matched to constituencies using postcodes.io, which is built on Office for National Statistics data.
Nothing is rewritten, summarised or paraphrased before it reaches you.
Does the app rate or rank MPs?
No. There are no scores, league tables or editorial commentary. The app shows what Parliament published and leaves the judgement to you.
That's deliberate. A vote only means something in the context of the bill, the amendment and the whip, and a count of speeches says nothing about what was in them. A neutral record is more useful, and more trustworthy, than someone else's verdict.
Is the app free?
Yes. Finding your MP and seeing their record is free. There is an optional one-off in-app purchase that unlocks the full text of every speech and search across it. There is no subscription and no advertising.
Does the app track me or store my postcode?
No. There is no account and no analytics. Your postcode is sent directly from your phone to the postcode lookup service and never passes through any server we run — we don't operate one. It is kept on your device only so you don't have to retype it, and it is removed when you delete the app.

Does it work in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland?
Yes, for your Westminster MP. Every UK constituency is covered. The app does not cover Members of the Scottish Parliament, Members of the Senedd or Members of the Northern Ireland Assembly, who are elected separately and publish their records through their own institutions.
How up to date is it?
The app reads live from Parliament's services every time you open it, so it is as current as Parliament's own record. Divisions usually appear within hours of the vote; Hansard is published the following morning; the Register of Interests is updated roughly every fortnight while the House is sitting.
After a by-election, the new MP appears as soon as Parliament records them. During a general election campaign there are no MPs — Parliament is dissolved — and the app will say so.
Can I contact my MP through the app?
The app shows the contact details Parliament publishes for your MP. It has no messaging of its own — you write to your MP the same way you always could, by email, post or through their constituency office.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. The app is built for iPhone and requires iOS 16 or later.
Who makes it?
SVPPLY&.CO LIMITED, an independent design and development studio in London, registered in England and Wales (company number 11377371). The app is not affiliated with, endorsed by or produced by the UK Parliament or any political party.
The same studio makes The Lords, a companion app for the House of Lords, where you find peers by the subject they specialise in rather than by postcode.
